How to Add or Change Page Background?
DocScan allows you to add a background layer to any page — using colors, textures, images, or shapes. This feature was originally designed for blank pages, but it’s also available for scanned documents to enhance or personalize the page design.
🔍 Note: This feature does not change the original paper color in a scanned document. It adds a visual background layer on top of the page.
Steps to Add or Edit Background:
➊ Open the Background Tool
There are two ways to access the background editing tool:
From document preview, tap the Edit button in the bottom toolbar, then tap Background.
In full-screen mode, tap the More button in the bottom toolbar, then tap Background.
➋ Customize Your Background
Once in the background editor, you can:
🎨 Change background color
Tips & Limitations
- Adding a background doesn’t alter the scanned paper itself — it's an extra design layer.
- On scanned pages, background color might not show clearly depending on how dark or complex the scan is. For best results, use on blank pages or light scans.
🖼️ Add textures or patterns
📷 Insert images
🔺 Add shapes like arrows, circles, and rectangles
Feel free to combine these elements to design a custom look for your page.
➌ Save Your Changes
When you're done, tap Done (top right) to apply the background.
✨ Use Cases
Here are some creative ways users apply the background feature:
- Design custom note pages by adding light-colored backgrounds to blank pages
- Add a cover image or colored background to scanned documents
- Make forms or worksheets using shapes and text
- Create mini-posters or flyers using blank pages and background tools
