Can’t Find Your Device During Data Transfer?
If you're unable to find your devices when using Transfer Data across Devices in DocScan, try the troubleshooting steps below. These cover the most common connection issues.
✅ Checklist to Fix the Problem
Make sure both devices are nearby
Data transfer uses local connectivity, so keep both devices within close range—ideally side by side.
Keep both devices on the Transfer Data across Devices screen
Open DocScan on both devices and go to: Settings > Transfer Data across Devices
Both devices must stay on this screen during the entire transfer process.
Turn on Wi-Fi on both devices
Even though the transfer doesn’t go through the internet, Wi-Fi must be enabled on both devices.
If either device is running iOS 12 or earlier, they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Allow DocScan to access the Local Network
(1) Go to iOS Settings
(2) Tap Privacy & Security
(3) Select Local Network
(4) Make sure DocScan or DocScan Pro is toggled ON on both devices
Still not working?
- Restart DocScan on both devices.
- Make sure you’re using the latest version of the app from the App Store.
- Avoid switching apps or locking the screen during the transfer.
- Try force-quitting and re-opening DocScan, then repeat the steps.
